4 Healthy Techniques for Losing Weight

Losing weight is a challenging process, but it’s a worthwhile endeavor when you’re trying to improve your overall health and well-being. Exercise is a key element of staying fit and shedding excess pounds. You can boost your efforts by taking some additional steps when participating in your workout routine and fueling your body with the nutrients it needs.

1. Increase Your Protein Intake

Although all the nutrients in your diet play a role in your weight-loss efforts, protein is the most important. The building blocks of proteins, known as amino acids, help to repair and maintain your muscles, skin, bones, and hair,  and also allows cells and organs to communicate through hormone production and carry oxygen to the cells. Scientific evidence supports a high-protein diet for weight loss and many other health benefits.

Eating more protein can also boost your metabolic rate and help you feel full, suppressing hunger for a longer period of time. When planning your meals for the day, look for ways to incorporate lean sources of protein. Examples include poultry, lean meats, eggs, nuts, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and whey protein supplements. Aim to eat about 25-30 grams of protein per meal or about 0.8-0.9 grams of protein per pound of body weight each day.

2. Cut Weight by Using a Sauna Suit

The apparel you choose to wear during your workouts can also impact your progress and results. Wearing a sauna suit when you exercise can help you burn more fat, lose more weight, and even boost your resting metabolic rate for ongoing results. Sauna suits trap in the heat your body produces, forcing the body to work harder to cool itself down. Wearing one can also increase blood circulation and oxygen to the muscles to promote recovery. When you’re cutting weight, make the most of your workouts with a sauna suit.

3. Do More Interval Training

Aerobic interval training has long been used by elite athletes, but anyone who wants to shake up their workout routine and burn more calories in less time can use the technique. Also referred to as high-intensity interval training (HIIT), this exercise method involves alternating short bursts of intense activity with slightly longer bursts of slightly less intense activity. If you like to walk, try incorporating 30 seconds of jogging for every one to two minutes of walking.

Interval training is ideal for those who want to improve their fitness and achieve their goals but are short on time. You can accomplish more in a shorter period of time, including more calories burned.

4. Learn Your Body’s Cues

Losing weight is impossible when you consume more than you burn. If you’re in the habit of eating when bored or stressed, you might find that the number on the scale remains stagnant. Focus on learning your body’s cues and only eat when you feel hungry. When you feel like you want to eat, consider whether you’re hungry or feeling another emotion.

By implementing these strategies, you can transform your fitness routine and achieve your goals. Healthy and attainable weight loss is possible, as long as you’re willing to put in the work.
