No matter where you are visiting, a vacation is a fantastic opportunity to see and do things out of the ordinary. However, if you have children, there are certain places they will enjoy more than others. Below are five excursions perfect for your next family getaway.
1. Cruise
If you really want to spoil your kids with something different, bring them from the land to sea! With a cruise, there are numerous activities for you and your kids at your fingertips. Many cruises port at multiple locations during the voyage, so you have the advantage of seeing numerous places without driving everywhere.
Have you always wanted to see the Northern Lights? Take a Northern Lights cruise to Ireland or Alaska to see this stupendous sight. This is a once-in-a-lifetime view that your kids will never forget. Aching to visit a tropical paradise? Set sail on a Caribbean cruise and treat your family to some beach time. Whatever your family’s preference, there is a cruise to fit your style.
2. Disney World
You will be hard-pressed to find a kid who does not jump at the chance to spend a vacation at Florida’s Disney World Theme Park. This epic location actually has four theme parks on the property: Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Disney offers a variety of ticket options to suit your schedule; you can simply visit one park each day or purchase hopper tickets that allow you to travel to multiple theme parks in a day after 2 p.m.
Disney World Resort and villas offers one-of-a-kind hotels for you and your kids to call home during your stay. Just be prepared to pay more for these accommodations. To save money, you can find a hotel off the resort or book an Airbnb. If you can’t afford traveling to Disney World for now, you can go to Broadway Grand Prix Myrtle Beach SC to enjoy a long day of fun with your kids.
3. Branson
Branson, Missouri is another excellent option for your next family trip. It offers a variety of activities for kids of all ages, as well as adults. Some have even dubbed it the “family-friendly Vegas.”
If your kids are older, take them to one of the numerous cultural options, such as Sight and Sound Theatre for an entertaining musical. This theatre welcomes nearly a million guests every year and has family-friendly productions. Otherwise known as “Christian Broadway,” you can take in eye-catching performances, such as Noah: The Musical, Jesus or Miracle of Christmas.
If adventure is more your style, bring the family to a theme or water park. USA Today named Silver Dollar City’s White Water Park one of America’s best outdoor water parks. Your older kids can take on Kalani Towers’ freefall drop slides while the young ones play in Coconut Cove.
4. Grand Canyon
If your family cannot get enough of the great outdoors, head over to Arizona’s Grand Canyon, named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. You can simply walk along this massive canyon’s edge, or if you feel particularly daring, you can hike into the canyon.
If you plan to hike the canyon, avoid the summer months, specifically May through September. You can do a day hike or, if your kids are older, plan an overnight hike in the canyon. You can also sign up for guided hikes to ensure your trip is both successful and safe.
5. East Coast
If you do not mind driving, take a road trip along America’s East Coast and visit historic American landmarks. Depending on how many sites you want to see, this trip may take a few weeks, so do it when the kids are out of school. Make a list of all the sites you want to see and then create a plan of where you will go and how long you will stay in each city.
Start North and work your way down or vice versa. Some historic stops you must make include the Statue of Liberty in New York City, Old North Church in Boston and countless sites in Washington D.C., including the Library of Congress, Ford’s Theater and the Lincoln Memorial.
A family vacation is something you and your kids remember for a lifetime. Consider these locations for a trip both you and your children will enjoy.
