The Barrows Gloves are some of the best in the game, but are they worth getting?
There are a number of items that are very useful in Old School Runescape. The Barrows Gloves are an example of this, which you can buy for 130,000 OSRS gold. If you want to save money, then you can get them for 104,000 OSRS GP if you have finished the Elite Lumbridge & Draynor Diary. The gloves are from the Culinaromancer’s Chest that you find in Lumbridge Castle cellar whilst finishing the Recipe for Disaster quest.
What’s Special about Barrows Gloves?
There’s a reason as to why we are looking at Barrows Gloves today, as they are the best gloves for offensive bonuses for Ranged in OSRS. They have better stats than the black dragonhide vambraces, and have the second highest magic offensive bonus, only bested by the tormented bracelet. They also have the second to best strength bonus in the game, behind the ferocious gloves. This is why you should focus on finishing the Recipe for Disaster quest to get the OSRS Barrow gloves, as it is a very effective goal for you to be working on. That said, you won’t be able to get any prayer bonus from them.
There isn’t necessarily any defence requirement for the gloves, but you can’t get them at level 1 defence as you’ll need to have completed certain quests in order to get them, which do have specific requirements themselves. To meet the quest requirements, you will need to get your defence up to level 41 when you look at the quest requirements and experience rewards.
Getting the OSRS Barrow Gloves
So far, we have learned that you need to get the Recipe for Disaster quest done, but what you may not know is that it is actually a part of 10 subquests. So, these are the basis of the requirements of what you need to essentially meet. So, to complete the requirements you will need to make your way through them that can be very time consuming. With that in mind, the gloves are something that you should work towards over the course of time.
It can be a massive grind to get them however, especially if you happen to have a PvP account. That said, they are very effective when you are playing against monsters with a PvM account. You can expect them to have a decent balance between magic, range and melee. So you do have some better alternatives, but when you consider all three factors, they are super useful.
You might be put off by the fact that questing plays such a huge part of how the Barrow gloves are acquired. But you have to consider just how much you stand to gain. Not only are you expecting to work towards the Barrow gloves, but you are going to be getting a lot more rewards from doing quests as well. Questing is required to get into certain areas of the game. You are going to be making OSRS gold along the way, and enhancing your skill levels is also going to be important as you progress. Skilling experience is very much on offer from doing quests, and is a much better alternative than some of the lower-level methods that are available to you in the game.
You will be naturally working your way through quests and increasing your skill levels, so you are organically working towards the desired Barrows Gloves. Ultimately, you are going to be on the road to getting these gloves for a long time, but you have to decide whether or not it’s worth your time.
Are the Barrows Gloves Worth it?
One thing is for certain, and that is getting the OSRS Barrow gloves is not going to be easy by any means. You could say that it’s more about the journey in this instance. As long as it might be, the path you take to get there can only benefit you and your character. It doesn’t matter if you are only using this to get yourself a PvP account. Going through the quests can still be very beneficial for you, so in general it’s a great piece of gear to go after. Your requirements aren’t leaving you needing to buy OSRS gold either, so you won’t need to find OSRS gold for sale. Having what is considered to be the Twisted Bow equivalent of gloves is something you should definitely consider, despite the mountainous task that’s ahead of you.
